Matches my thoughts and experiences with UX writing, and I agree with Rahel's point in the comments too.

You touch on it here, with the humour point, but I think the major difference in terms of writing is tone of voice. UX writers seem to get to play with that a bit more, whereas tech writing is pretty neutral like content design.
